BallyneetyHub is planning more outdoor markets in 2021
Our Christmas market was held on 20th December 2020. We were surprised by a visit from Mrs Claus and Santa! Details of future markets will be listed here when decided upon.
Thank you all for the great support for our local crafts and producers.
Our first Outdoor Farmers’ Market was held in October 2020 and another in November. The events had 25 stall holders with lots of home made and home grown produce, crafts and pictures. BCDA was delighted to be able to provide a platform for many in our community to showcase their products. As per government guidelines outdoor markets are considered essential services. It has been an astounding success and community support has been immense, many stall holders sold out of produce early.
We received very positive feedback, with comments such as ‘great community spirit’, ‘it was a lovely occasion and a great buzz about the place’, ‘it was so enjoyable and a brilliant way for the community to get together’ and ‘well done to the committee and volunteers who made it run so safely and smoothly’. Thank you all.
We would like to reassure the public of our strict adherence to Covid-19 regulations. We would encourage everyone in these difficult times to come and support our local small producers. Contact us firstname.lastname@example.org
Where BCDA started
Following a series of community engagement meetings and discussions held with Ballyneety community members in 2014/15/16 it was decided to formalise a community development plan by forming the Ballyneety Community Development Association in 2016. Planning permission was received that same year from the council and the local golf club to use an available five acres of land for the development of a number of community related projects. The projects include a walking track, a multi purpose facility and an astroturf soccer pitch.
The name of the Association is the Ballyneety Community Development Association(abbreviated to BCDA). The history and traditions of the community of Ballyneety and the engagement of the residents is at the heart of the Association.
The principle objectives of the Association shall include the promotion, development and operation of recreational and sporting facilities for the members of the Ballyneety community and surrounding area.
BCDA opened two facilities in 2019; The astroturf 5 a side pitch and the purpose built Innovation hub. The Innovation hub has a large multi-purpose room for hire, a meeting room and 3 hot desk desks with access to Wi Fi. Click below or email email@example.com for more information.
