Where BCDA started
Following a series of community engagement meetings and discussions held with Ballyneety community members in 2014/15/16, it was decided to formalise a community development plan by forming the Ballyneety Community Development Association in 2016. Planning permission was received that same year from the council and the local golf club to use an available five acres of land for the development of a number of community related projects. The projects include a walking track, a multi purpose facility and an astroturf pitch.
The name of the Association is the Ballyneety Community Development Association (BCDA). The history and traditions of the community of Ballyneety and the engagement of the residents is at the heart of the Association.
The principle objectives of the Association shall include the promotion, development and operation of recreational facilities for the members of the Ballyneety community and surrounding area.
BCDA opened two facilities in 2019; The astroturf 5 a side pitch and the purpose built Innovation hub. The Innovation hub has a large multi-purpose room for hire, a meeting room, a therapy room and office space with access to WiFi. Click below or email info@bcda.ie for more information.
